704,921. Current supply stands. DONALDSON. D. Jan. 2, 1953 [Jan. 4, 1952], No. 320/52. Class 39 (3) A current supply stand for a hand iron comprises a frame 10 having a spring-pressed, earthed, iron-supporting platform 32 which bars access to contacts 24 on the frame when in normal position, but permits access thereto when depressed by the weight of the iron. The platform 32 is pivoted at 31 and upwardly urged by a spring 35, upward and downward movement of the platform being limited by a flange 12<SP>4</SP> and a stop 36 respectively. The contacts 24 are of carbon, and are mounted on the ends of conductor strips, as 22, which urge them close behind holes 25 in an insulating block 15 which is secured to metal angle pieces screwed to the sides of the sheet metal frame, which includes a box-like part 12<SP>2</SP>, 12<SP>3</SP>, which houses a manual switch and a neon lamp 19. The frame is earthed by a strip 27.
