Abstract
703,025. Selenium rectifiers. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Sept. 24, 1951 [Sept. 23, 1950], No. 22332/51. Class 37 In a centre-contact selenium rectifier stack each rectifier disc has a counter electrode 5 applied as a pre-formed unit and fused on to the selenium layer 4 and pressure-receiving varnish ring 6. In manufacture the fusion action occurs during the temperature treatment producing conversion of the selenium layer into the conducting crystalline form. Each conducting spacer has an annular recess as shown. Details of suitable varnish compositions are given in the Specification.
