Abstract

Class 39(1) [Also in Group XXXVI] A method of locking a wire in an insulator comprises the steps of passing the wire 1 through a hole in an insulator 2 and bringing pressure to bear on the surface of the wire by means of blades so shaped as to cause indentations at points on the surface of the wire and bulges at adjacent points, the position and shape of the bulges being so arranged that a firm contact between the bulges and the insulator is produced. The tool may comprise four chisel shaped blades 3, 4, 5 and 6 as shown in Fig. 1. Fig. 2 shows the wire clamped to the insulator by the bulges produced by the tool.
