Abstract

701,074. Perforating. SCHLUMBERGER WELL SURVEYING CORPORATION. Feb. 6, 1952 [Feb. 6, 1951], No. 3141/52. Class 83 (4). [Also in Group XXI] For piercing a well casing when cemented into position, one or more explosive perforating means are disposed in a carrier body at an angle to both the longitudinal axis of the body and a normal thereto, the perforating means being preferably directed upwards 80 that the perforations m the casing are directed downwards. The explosive perforating means comprise shaped charges 20 mounted within a watertight cylindrical container 16. The charges are positioned in containers 21 that may be held in sleeves 28 secured to a framework that can be removed from the container, or adjacent sleeves may be either interconnected by a pin on a bracket secured to one sleeve engaging a hole in the bracket of an adjacent sleeve, or by screwed rods extending from opposite sides of each sleeve and coupling nuts.
