Class 137 Ventilating means for vehicles, particularly motor omnibuses, comprises a pair of flat, broad, air supply ducts 7, 7<SP>1</SP> with forwardly disposed air intakes 9, 9' and side delivery openings 18 or 20 for delivering two broad thin streams of air towards one another and towards a central gangway 6. The top walls of the supply ducts 7, 7' are formed by the inner roof lining 11, the other walls consisting of bent lengths 12, Fig. 3, or 12<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 4, of material made e.g. of metal or plastic &c. The outer edges of the lengths 12, 12' are detachably secured at 13 to beams 14 of the roof. The inner rolled edge 17 of the duct 7, Fig. 3, is held spaced from the roof 11 by angle brackets 16 to provide a narrow slot 18 which extends the full length of the duct and the inner edge 17 of the duct 7', Fig. 4. is detachably secured at 15 to the roof lining 11. a continuous series of long narrow slots 20 directed towards the lining 11 being formed in the part 19 of the "Z"-shaped section at the inner edge of the length 12. The ducts are closed at their rear ends at 8 and are provided with throttles 23 at their front ends having operating levers 22 to control the quantity of air entering the ducts. Discharge of used air from the vehicle can be effected e.g. through a suction scoop 24 and through side windows having horizontally displaceable air extraction panes.
