692,306. Heating liquids by electricity. FROST, R. J. Dec. 31, 1949 [Dec. 5, 1949], No. 33461/49. [A Specification was laid open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Aug. 8, 1950]. Class 39(iii) An electric steam generator comprises a metal tubular secondary 8, 11 of a transformer 5 having a converted strip of metal 19 to break up the flux of water through the secondary 8, 11. The secondary circuit comprises a winding 8 of copper tube, and a tube 11 of nickel chrome steel, a helical coil of metal chrome steel wire 19 fitting within the bore of the tube 11. Water enters at 18 and flows through the coil 8, a rod 16 preventing passage of water to the steam outlet 15 and ensuring an electrical circuit. From the coil 8 the water flows through pipes 10 and 11 to the steam outlet 15. A pressure switch may be incorporated in the circuit.
