Abstract
690,837. Handles with recessed back retaining - devices for brushes. FANCY METAL GOODS, Ltd. Oct. 3, 1951 [Oct. 12, 1950], No. 24896/50. Class 61 (i). A toilet brush comprises a rigid, closed metal back 1a formed with a flange 1b into which fits a detachable stock 4. The stock 4 is attached by means of a captive screw 5 which engages a screw box 2a fixed to the back by way of a metal strip 3, the box 2a being hard-soldered to the strip 3, which is then soft-soldered to the back. A projection 4a on the stock fits into the hollow handle 1c which is formed integrally with the back.
