Abstract
689,419. Racks. SHELL-MEX & B.P., Ltd. Jan. 12, 1951, No. 970/51. Class 52(v) [Also in Groups XV, XVIII and XXXVIII] A holder for cards or articles of similar shape which may themselves be used as holders for small objects such as tools, comprises a plurality of pivots 7, each carrying a card 8 and arranged at equal circumferential distances in a circular arc, mounted between two arcuate members 6 which are pivotally mounted, at 4, approximately concentrically with the arc, in a wall bracket 1 so as to be capable of swinging through not less than 180 degrees approximately, the maximum number of cards being such that they can be set parallel to each other at the same time. The wall bracket 1 is provided with extensions 3 of approximately the same length at the radius r of the members 6, between the ends of which the pivots 4 are secured. The angle B of the members 6 is at least 120 degrees, preferably 130 degrees-140 degrees, and gives, when the maximum number of cards is used, an opening angle A approximateley equal. The cards 8 are secured to the pivot pins 7 by a strip of cloth-lined paper glued round the pin and to each side of the card.
