Abstract

686,965. Handbags. MAYER (LONDON), Ltd., L. S. Nov. 7, 1951, No. 26038/51. Class 133. A handbag is provided with a body which is wholly or in part transparent and the transparent part is provided with means whereby a lining or sheet of material can be detachably secured to it. As shown a tubular transparent body 4 is secured to a bottom 1 by an upturned rim 2 and by strips 5 passing over the upper edges of the body and secured by their lower ends to the rim 2. To the strips 5 on the interior are provided members 7 having projecting tongues adapted to engage, and secure in position, detachable linings 8 of material. The material may be of any ornamental appearance matching the lady's dress if desired or may be of two sheets of material of contrasting colours secured back to back by a flexible frame. A carrying strap 10 secured by shackles &c. is provided.
