Class 82(i) A ladle-truck comprises a wheeled framework on which a foundry ladle, or a cradle adapted to receive a foundry ladle, is arranged to be tiltable about an axis passing through or near to the end of the spout of the ladle and extending longitudinally of the truck outside the wheel tracks of the latter so as to permit the metal to be poured into a mould disposed adjacent the side of the truck with the height and lateral position of the spout substantially unaffected by the progressive tilting of the ladle. As shown in Figs. 1 and 3 the truck has a frame 1 running on two coaxial wheels 2, 2a of rubbertyred construction placed substantially under the centre of gravity of the ladle 9, auxiliary wheels 3, at the front of the truck, and 4, at the rear of the truck, being: so arranged that all these auxiliary wheels may be raised from the ground by tilting the truck. Ladle 9 is mounted in a cradle 10, 11 which is pivoted at 7. Tilting of the cradle is effected hydraulically by an extensible strut 18 operated by fluid pumped into cylinder 17 from tank 16 by a hand pump 14 operated by handle 15. Operation of a release valve by handle 21 permits the fluid to return to tank 16 and the cradle to return under the action of gravity to its normal position. Furthermechanism may be provided for lifting the ladle bodily before being tilted.
