Abstract
685,211. Crop-dusters. FARBENFABRIKEN BAYER. Sept. 15, 1949 [Sept. 15, 1948]. No. 23845/49. Class 6 (i). [Also in Group XXIX]. A blower comprising two impellers 4 driven from the wheels 1 of a vehicle through gears 2, has a nozzle 8 which produces a downwardly directed air jet for agitating plant leaves, and one or more nozzles 12 in or adjacent the air nozzle are provided for discharging a pesticide upon the said leaves. The air is directed to the nozzle 8 through ducts 5, baffles 6 and a distributer tube 7. The nozzles 12 are fed with liquid or powder from a tank 13. The end portions 9 may be slidable on the tube 7 and may pivot about hinges 10 to a stowing position.
