Class 6(i) An expanding cultivator comprises a main beam 1 and a pair of side-members 9 arranged one on each side of the beam 1, all three members being fitted with cultivating tools 11, 12, and the side-members being pivoted at their rear ends 8 to a bracket 10 carried by - the beam 1 and having adjustable retaining means at their front ends so that they may be set at various angles. The retaining means comprises upper and lower pairs of links, 15, 16, pivoted to pins 17 at the front of the members 9, the lower pair 16 being received in a clamp 24 slidable along the beam 1. The upper links 15 are slotted longitudinally and are received in a clamp 19 carried by a bracket 18 attached to the beam 1. The beam 1 also carries a standard 5 attached by parallel links 30, 31, to a superstructure 32, 44, which is secured to a tractor tool-bar by a clamp 33. The standard 5 includes a horizontal limb 4 carrying an adjustable depth-wheel 35. The whole cultivator is therefore floatingly suspended by the links 30, 31, from the superstructure 32, 44, the rear end of which is bifurcated and receives slidably between its limbs 44 a bifurcated standard 56 upstanding from the beam 1.
