678,854. Soil-removing dibbles. GRUNDY, H. L. May 10, 1951 [May 10, 1950], No. 11636/50. Class 6(ii) An appliance for forming cavities in and removing cores of soil from the ground, comprises a plunger 8 slidable in a tube 1, one half 4 of the lower part of the tube being pivoted to the remainder. A stud 9 projects from the plunger through a slot in the part 4 and is provided with a head 12, and a similar stud projects through a slot in the part 3, thus keeping the halves 3, 4 together during the first part of the penetration into the ground. The shank 1 may be less in diameter than the parts 3, 4.
