Abstract

676,554. Telescopic tower ladders. ECLIPSE RAIL TRACK LADDER CO., Ltd., MAY, C. J., and SPALDING, D. B. Feb. 7, 1951 [Feb. 8, 1950], No. 3258/50. Class 20(ii). A tower ladder comprising two or more sections adapted to telescope one into the next, is provided with cam devices 22, Figs. 2, 4, pivoted at 23 to the outer section 12 and adapted to project towards or abut the inner section 11 and to permit adjustment of the clearance between the two sections. The cam plate 22 is secured in its adjusted position by means of a screw-threaded pin 26 projecting from a base plate 20 on the section 12 and through an arcuate slot 25 in the cam plate 22, a nut 27 clamping the two plates together. A metal strip 28 is secured to each vertical post 13 of the inner section 11 which is abutted by a cam plate. The cam devices are arranged on that side of the tower ladder opposed to the side from which the platform projects at the top.
