Class 27 In a coin-freed apparatus for dispensing a measured quantity of a drink and a paper cup to receive it, a stack 19, Fig. 3, of the cups is supported by the rear end of a coinfreed manually-reciprocable slide 2 which, when thrust in, detaches the lowermost cup 19 by means of a fork 13 and discharges it through an aperture 11 to a delivery shoot 20, stops 12 on the slide then supporting the remainder of the stack pending return outward movement of the slide. The fork 13 is pivoted to the slide at 14 and has a depending arm 16 which, when the slide moves in, engages a stop 17, causing the fork to pivot downwardly against the action of a spring 15 and to detach the lowermost cup 19. The liquid is dispensed on the return of the slide for which purpose it is fitted, on either side, with an inclined arm 3, Fig. 1, having a slot 4 engaged by a pin 7 on one arm 6 of a pair 6, 6* freely pivoted on a fixed bracket 5 and connected by a tension spring 10. Each arm 6* terminates in a fork 8 engaging the actuating rod 9 of a dispensing valve 23: the valve is of a known type adapted to screw into the neck of a bottle which is then inverted, a measured quantity being discharged when the rod 9 is raised (e.g. by the rim of a glass) and the measure within the valve refilling when the rod 9 is released and lowers. When the slide 2 is moved in, each arm 3 snaps over the arms 6, 6* to the lower position (shown in broken lines) to lower the valve rod 9 to refill the valve measure. On the return of the slide 2, the arms 6, 6* snap back and return the valve rod 9 to discharge the measured quantity of liquid. The two valves 23 are associated respectively with a tank 21 for cordial and a water tank 22, Fig. 5, and discharge into a common outlet pipe 25.
