Abstract
672,918. Medicines. KRAUSE, A. May 12, 1949, No. 12743/49. Class 81 (i). An iron-containing product for medicinal purposes is obtained by converting an iron-containing compound into the hydroxide in the presence of a devalent metal hydroxide, e.g. magnesium, copper, cobalt and manganese, soluble in water within the limits 10<SP>-4</SP>-10<SP>-8</SP> mols. per litre at ordinary temperature, separating the hydroxides, and submitting the product, in the form of a moist gel, to substantial oxidation, e.g. by stirring the product spread in a layer on a glass plate, or by blowing air through the wet mass. The devalent metal hydroxides are preferably obtained by coprecipitation, at a pH 8-12. The product is finally dried at 10-25‹ C.
