Abstract

672,884. Lubricant nipples. DIDSBURY ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and BARTON, H. K. Jan. 11, 1950 [Dec. 13, 1948], No. 32124/48. Class 12 (iii). In a grease nipple of the type comprising a hollow metal spigot A screw-threaded at one end B for engagement in a tapped orifice, a cylindrical sheet metal member H is located in the nipple bore, and has an integral sealing flap J which engages an annular seat G in the bore. The flap J may be produced by punching a C-shaped slot in the base of a pressed-metal cup, or the member may be formed from a strip of sheet-metal and bent to shape. The end of the bore L may be deformed to retain the member H.
