669,537. Electric heating; heat storage. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Oct. 14, 1948 [Oct. 21, 1947], No. 28125/47. Class 39(iii) [Also in Group XIII] Thermal storage apparatus for raising steam without superheating comprises an electrically heated cast-iron block 14 into which extends a cavity 16 with surfaces 22, 23 adapted for heat exchange, the bulk of the block being concentrated behind these surfaces. Water is led into the cavity to be converted into steam as it passes over the surfaces 22, 23. Two horizontal bores 29 (one shown) receive electric heating elements. Specification 653,797, [Group VI], is referred to.
