Abstract

Seeds are rendered herbicide resistant by coating with a substantially spherical layer of a porous, highly adsorptive substance e.g. activated carbon, silica gel, zeolite, alumina and a water-soluble binder by spraying with a water-soluble plastic e.g. methyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, sodium alginate and then rolling and tumbling in the adsorptive substance. Hormone plant stimulants, fertilizers and trace mineral elements may also be incorporated. Specification 599,445 is referred to.
