Abstract
667,079. Washing-machines. GUZZETTI, A., and AIMASSO, M. Jan. 24,. 1950, No. 1871/50. Class 138 (ii). A clothes washing machine in which circulation of the washing liquid is produced by a forced circulation pump, is characterized in that two opposite faces 5, 5<SP>1</SP> of a receptacle a for the liquid are in communication, through a plurality of orifices 6, 6<SP>1</SP> and over a large area, with corresponding water boxes 7, 71 and these boxes communicate with the admission end of a centrifugal pump b by means of respective return conduits 8, 81 having a decreasing section in the direction of circulation of the liquid, the expulsion from the pump being effected through a plurality of orifices 17 having different directions and orientated towards the bottom 2 of the receptacle, so as to generate a rotational movement of the liquid, the virtual axis of which is normal to and passes through the water boxes. The pump b comprises a vane rotor 15 mounted on a shaft 16 carrying a pulley 16<SP>1</SP>, and a casing 12. 13 having in it a cavity bounded by a spiral wall 14. The pump may be driven by an electric motor e. As shown, the receptacle .has sloping Walls 1, 1<SP>1</SP> and a drain outlet 19 is connected through a three-way valve f to a waste pipe 19a, the valve f being actuated by a handle 20. Alternatively a rubber or like flexible tube (not shown) may be attached to the outlet 19 for directing the outflow as desired.
