665,572. Protective cut-out arrangements. BROOKE, W., and BALDWIN, H. T. Oct. 26, 1949. No. 25671/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 38 (v). A remote control protective system for polyphase motors and other apparatus, has a gasfilled triode to which a rectified full wave A.C. potential and an A.C. grid bias potential are applied, means being provided to vary the datum level of the bias voltage wave, so that the valve may fire on successive half cycles to energise and close a contactor and may fire on alternate half cycles to provide sufficient excitation to the contactor closing coil to maintain the contactor closed, but insufficient to reclose the contactor if it has been opened by a fault condition. The figures and description are the same as Figs. 1 and 2 and the descriptive matter relating thereto of Specification 665,571, but the claims differ. Specifications 605,927, 605,932, 623,911, 636,720 and 665,576 are also referred to.
