[Also in Group V] Moulds containing wood fibre and a hydraulic binder such as cement are pushed along roller conveyers 16 (Fig. 2, plan view) to a position below a central bin 4 which. together with similar bins 3, 5, is disposed in a heated chamber 1, the moulds being heated in the chamber to set the binder. Each mould is raised by a hydraulic or mechanical jack 8 into the bin 4, the moulds resting on top of each other (Fig. 7). Catches 24 which normally support the column of moulds retract when a mould is raised. At the top of the bin 4 the moulds are transferred, by means of a carriage 12, either to bin 3 or to bin 5, to form descending columns of moulds. At the bottom of bins 3 and 5 the moulds are taken away on conveyers 16b to a point opposite transverse roller conveyers 16c, where they are emptied and transferred to conveyers 16 and filled again. Each bin comprises guide rails 6 and a coil 7 through which flows warm water or steam which heats the air to 30- 60‹C. The warm air is circulated by fans 10. Stairs 14 and a control bridge 15 are provided. Each mould comprises side walls 17 and a removable base 18 supported on cross-bars 19, and a cover made of a sheet 20 supported by bars 21 fixed to cross-bars 22.
