Abstract

664,906. Soot blowers. WAGER, R. H. Dec. 20, 1949, No. 32585/49. Class 99 (ii). The cleaning-fluid supply valve 20 of a sootblower is actuated by a shaft 29 which rotates the blower tube 23 through gearing 25, the valve being connected to one arm 49 of a bell-crank lever, the other arm 50 of which extends substantially parallel to the shaft, and is connected by a link 52 to a travelling nut 34 thereon. The travel of the nut is limited by adjustable stops 35, 36, the valve being closed at each end of the nut's travel.
