662,843. Automatic steering control systems. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Dec. 6, 1946 [Feb. 1, 1946], No. 36218/46. Class 38 (iv). The automatic steering system disclosed in Specification 662,842 is modified by the addition that the manual controls are grouped and arranged within a casing. The three potentiometers 210, 211, 212, controlling turn, bank and climb respectively, are ganged; the three trimmer potentiometers 164, 166, 167 are mounted in their appropriate planes, and the transformer windings associated with the controls have a common primary 170. A cam 171 opens switch 173 (to release the brake on the servomotor driving the compass transmitter) when a manual turn is initiated. A master switch is mounted on the top of the casing.
