Abstract
662,529. Paper-cutting machines. GIBSON, C. CAREW-. March 13, 1950 [Nov. 3, 1949], No. 28173/49. Class 31 (i). In a machine of the type described in Specification 339,724, [Class 146 (ii)], for marking labels, there is provided label holding and clamping means comprising an outer clampplate 2 fixable in a set position on the machine platform 12, a carrier 19 slidably mounted on the platform, means for moving said carrier towards and away from the clamp-plate 2, an inner clamp-plate 1 detachably mounted on said carrier and having a set of parallel bars 3 adapted to embrace a pack of labels or the like and to hold them against movement, together with co-operating means on the carrier and on the platform for up-ending the carrier when it is retracted from the clamping position so as to facilitate changing the pack of labels. The carrier 19 is provided with sockets 30 which, when the carrier is retracted, co-operate with hinge-pins (not shown) on the platform, the carrier then pivoting upwards about the hinge-pins.
