A shelf 9 supported at each end between front and back uprights 1 has studs 11 at one side engaging apertures 7 in the uprights and sockets 12 at the opposite side into which are inserted necked pins 13 passed through corresponding apertures 7 in the opposed uprights, the neck holding the pin captive. The stud 11 and socket 12 are preferably formed in a bearer bar 10 secured between front and rear edgings 8 housing downturned flanges on the shelf 9
