Abstract

661,693. Indicators for displaying variable information. WARD, E. S. W. June 30, 1949. [March 14, 1949] No. 6900/49. Class 118 (i). An indicator comprises panels 1 joined at their edges 2 so as to be collapsible into a compact stack or extended so that at least the faces of two adjacent panels are visible. In the embodiment shown the top and bottom edges 3 are rolled around a stout wire 5 whose protruding ends are formed into eyes. A wire spindle 8 is threaded through a top and bottom eye of one panel and cranked as shown, the top and bottom eyes of the next panel being fitted over the cranked ends. The end of spindle 8 has fitted to it a bracket member 10 for mounting the whole assembly to the wall of a storage bin or other fixture. Each panel 1 comprises clips 11 pressed from the panel on which cards bearing data are mounted. The Provisional Specification states that instead of being hinged together the panels may slide one upon the other.
