Abstract
661,412. Electrostatic precipitation. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., BLOOD, W. R. and MOORE, J. W. Jan. 25, 1950 [Feb. 1, 1949], No. 2752/49. Drawings to Specification. Class 39 (i). In apparatus for depositing by electrostatic precipitation a layer of powdered fluorescent material on the wall of the container of a fluorescent lamp, the electrode located outside the wall has a plurality of uniformly distributed point-like extensions towards the wall. The point-like extensions may be constituted by pointed wires spaced from the wall, or by metal brushes which contact the wall. The electrode may comprise a semi-cylindrical or cylindrical sleeve which is simultaneously rotated and moved axially of the container, or the electrode may be in the form of a stirrup arranged with its limbs axially of the container and rotated about the container. The container itself may be rotated. Specifications 621,734 and 621,778, [Group VI], are referred to.
