A parasiticidal lotion for body parasites is prepared by mixing together pyrethrum extract, sesamin extract, an ovicide such as 2,4- dinitroanisole, a solvent for the ovicide such as benzyl alcohol, an intermiscible solvent such as oleic acid, glycol monolaurate or propylene glycol monolaurate to make the extractcontaining phase and the ovicide-containing phase mutually soluble, one or more emulsifying agents and water as a dispersing medium. The emulsifying agent should produce a lotion having a final pH of about 5.5-6.5 and is preferably a combination of at least two of (1) sulphonated or sulphated vegetable oils such as castor oil, corn oil or cottonseed oil, (2) condensation products of ethylene oxide with sorbitan or mannitan monolaurate or like hexahydric alcohol anhydride partial esters, (3) dioctyl sulphosuccinate or its sodium salt. The preparation preferably also contains apiol. Solvents such as acetone, cyclohexanone, carbon tetrachloride, chloroform and alkylated naphthalenes may be added to prevent precipitates forming from the pyrethrum extract. A perfume oil is also an optional ingredient.
