Abstract

659,194. Bottle carriers. MEDWAY CORRUGATED PAPER CO., Ltd., and UDEN, R. F. Feb. 22, 1949, No. 4778. [Class 18] A carrier or container for bottles and the like is made from a blank 6, Fig. 1, e.g. of corrugated fibre board, folded at each end about transverse score or crease lines 8, 9, 10, 11, to form a rectangular tube 14, Fig. 2, that lies against and is secured by staples 16 to a portion 15 of the blank, the tube walls between the score lines 10, 11 being provided with preformed openings 13 to receive the bottles and the blank being scored centrally at 7 so that it can be folded with the tubes disposed pannierwise. Hand holes 12 are formed adjacent the central score line 7. When empty, the carrier may be folded flat for transport by collapsing the tubes 14 and folding the limbs of the carrier about the crease 7 to bring the collapsed tubes within the partition forming portions 15.
