Abstract
654,438. Motor mechanical horse. WADE A. H., and MACKINTOSH, G. H. April 28, 1948, No. 11597. [Class 79 (iii)] [Also in Groups XV, XVIII and XXXII] An amusement or advertising device consists of a quadruped comprising a framework draped to represent an elephant, which may be mechanically or electrically propelled, provided with a howdah adapted to hold children or displaying advertisements. The head and trunk portion of the framework are pivotally connected with the body portion of the framework and attached to a swivelling framework which supports the front end of the body framework or chassis and carries the front legs G and steering wheels G9, which can be turned in either direction for steering purposes by an attendant moving the head sideways. The chassis C rests on four legs, the rear legs being rigidly fixed to the chassis and carrying wheels D3 driven through gearing by an internal combustion engine mounted on the chassis. Either or both tusks may be movable one to operate the motor and the other to move the eyes and ears. Specification 7027/99, [Class 79], is referred to.
