Abstract

653,103. Moulding by dipping. ABREY, M. June 30, 1948, No. 17613. [Class 87 (ii)] Formers are supported during their immersion by a tray comprising a series of channelsection elements A supported on a frame A<SP>1</SP> (Fig. 5), each element having therein a series of apertures of a contour shown in Fig. 1, the apertures B, B<SP>1</SP> forming an anchorage position for a former support. Each such support comprises a base-plate C carrying screws C<SP>1</SP> engaging holes in a plate C<SP>2</SP> lying in a slot in the former so that on tightening the screws the upper end of the former (which is shown in broken lines in Fig. 4), is clamped to the underface of the base-plate C at C<SP>3</SP>. Base-plate C has distancepiece D and retaining plate E secured to it by rivets F which also secure to plate E a leaf-spring G, the ends of which bear on balls H freely disposed in holes in the retaining-plate E. Parts H<SP>1</SP> pressed out of the trays A constitute stops which limit the rotational movement of the supports and at the end of the rotation the balls H are pressed slightly upwards to form a frictional lock. In a modification (not illustrated), the base C, C<SP>1</SP>, C<SP>2</SP> is replaced by a body to which the assembly D, E, G is secured by screws.
