[Class 49] Means for providing an air lock around the mouths of bottles which are required to be immersed in liquid during treatment of their contents and so protect the mouths of the bottles against ingress of the liquid comprises an inverted tray 12 of frustopyramidal shape, of such a size that it fits within a standard bottle crate 14 and envelopes the whole of the mouths of the bottles 13 packed into the crate, with the flange of the tray depending below the mouths of the bottles, having uninterrupted inside surfaces, and having, on top of the tray, elongated supports 12b, of height less than the depth of the flange, for a superposed crate.
