Abstract

652,023. Television. CINEMA-TELEVISION, Ltd., and McCONNELL, E. D. Nov. 22, 1948, No. 30265. [Class 40 (iii)] [Also in Group XL (c)] In a synchronized time base which is required to operate at a given recurrence frequency the incoming synchronizing signals are applied to the grid of a valve the anode of which comprises a circuit which is resonant at the given frequency so that the time base is rendered less sensitive to pulses occurring between those at the given frequency. The Figure shows the application to the line time base of a television receiver. The synchronizing pulses which contain pulses occurring at both line frequency and double line frequency, are applied to synchronize a multivibrator comprising valves 2, 3, the output pulses from which are applied to the saw-tooth current generator 4. Circuit 7 is resonant at line frequency and the damping resistor 9 is adjusted so that the sinusoidal component of the anode voltage of valve 3 prevents this valve from being triggered by double line frequency pulses which occur between the line frequency synchronizing pulses.
