Abstract

651,624. Kinematograph apparatus. BRITISH OPTICAL & PRECISION ENGINEERS, Ltd. Oct. 13, 1948, No. 26643. [Class 97 (i)] [Also in Group XXIV] In a Geneva mechanism for use in kinematograph projectors the slots 7, 8, 9, &c. of the driven wheel 5 are formed in an annular ring 10 so that the pin 3 on a driving-wheel 1 passes through one slot 7 and out of engagement on the inside of the ring 10. A second pin 4 on the wheel 1 then engages in the adjacent slot 8 and continues movement of the wheel 5 until the main driving-pin 3 engages and passes out through a slot 9 in advance of the slot 7 through which it entered. Thus, with ten slots in the wheel 5 it is only advanced one tenth of a revolution for each revolution of the driving wheel. A cylindrical locking surface 11 is provided on the driving-wheel 1 to co-operate with arcuate surfaces 12 on the wheel 5 during the dwell periods and a gap 13 is provided in the surface 11 to allow the actuation at the appropriate moment.
