[Class 132 (i)] A protective edging for skis, comprises a strip, which may be divided in sections, of relatively hard material (e.g. steel, fibre or celluloid), adapted to be secured in a recess along a marginal edge of the running surface of a ski, so that the flat under-side of the strip lies flush with said running surface of the ski and a side surface forming part of the side of the ski, the strip being so formed that its said side surface meets its said under surface at an acute angle. As shown the protective edge has thickening ribs a and b at either side embracing a feather f formed in the recess of the ski. Incisions may be made in the thickenings so that the edge protectors can bend with the ski and they may have an insertion or mounting to prevent icing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also edge protectors wherein the side surface and under surface are not at an acute angle to one another. The protector may have only one longitudinal rib and its under side may be shaped as shown in Fig. 3 (Cancelled). A de-icing insertion g, shaped as shown, may be used. Two methods of securing successive sections of the protector are described. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
