[Class 132 (i)] A device for supplying a gripping action to skis during the ascent of a slope comprises one or more bands of rubber or like material wholly or partially covering or fitted into the sliding surface of the ski and provided with a series of tongues 2 which increase in thickness from the tip to the root and with corresponding cavities 3 into which the tongues 2 fit when normal sliding takes place.
