Abstract

650,184. Induction heating. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and BAKER, W. F. May 24, 1948, No. 14019. [Class 39(iii)] A split secondary and work coil assembly comprises two half turn work coil portions 8, each connected to a half turn secondary portion 3, 4 of the split cylindrical secondary winding, by strip conductors 9. The two secondary portions are hinged at 7 and the assembly may be opened to remove the work-piece 10 from the work coil. The primary winding is located inside or outside the split secondary assembly. A modification is shown in Fig. 2 in which a sliding motion is employed to separate the work coil portions. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 655,400.
