[Class 138(i)] [Also in Group XXIX] In a dishwashing machine comprising a closeable container, a dish carrier within the casing anc a rinsing mechanism coaxially arranged in the lower part of the container and comprising a motor driven impeller, a pressure space and a water distributing device the rinsing mechanism is arrange( within a compression unit and a spraying head fixed on the impel ler shaft is arranged within the neck of the compression vessel so that an opening between the neck and spraying head is directed out wardly and horizontally, the spray ing head being provided with a plu ralitv of iet openings, one of which is directed upwardly and outwardly whilst the other is directed vertically upwards. The dishwashing machine, Fig. 1, comprises a container 1, having a sump 7 surrounded by an electric element 45 for heating the water, and dish baskets 38, 39. Mounted in the sump 7, supported by stays 17, is a compression vessel 18 housing an impeller 27 mounted on the shaft 15 of an electric motor 13, which shaft is also connected at its upper end to a spraying head 19. As shown in Fig. 2, the compression vessel 18 comprises a lower compartment 30 for the impeller 27, which compartment is in communication with the sump 7 and with an upper compartment 29 forming a pressure chamber through the perforations in a dividing partition 28. Water passing from the compartment 30 is prevented from rotating within the pressure chamber 29 by baffles 31. The spraying head 19 is supported on the shaft 15 within the neck 18a of the pressure chamber 29. The spraying head is formed with a central cylindrical nozzle opening 22 supported by ribs 24, which narrows at its outlet, the outlet being provided with dividing walls 23, and an annular space 21 interrupted by supporting ribs 20. These two nozzle outlets and the annular space 18b between the neck 18a and the head 19 provide three sets of concentric nozzles in all. Arcuate :recesses 50, Fig. 3, on the surface of the head 19 serve to give abetter shape to the group of water jets.
