[Class 26] A chamber pot comprises a receptacle 1, an upward projection 4 at or adjacent the rim which permits location of the legs at opposite sides of it and deflects imping- ing fluid downwardly into the pot and a laterally projecting handle 10 on the projection 4. Instead of the projection a column may be provided (Fig. 10), extending from<SP> </SP>the bottom, moulded of synthetic plastic and composed of separate interconnected tubular portions 11, 12 formed integrally with the receptacle and the handle 13 respectively, recessed to inverted channel shape. The part 11 has concavities 14 at each side thereof. The part 12 has a spigot formed by the external wall 12A which fits in a socket formed by the internal wall 11A of the part 11; the joint between the parts 11 and 12 being concealed by a skirt 16, Fig. 12. Ankey on the part 12 may be made to engage in a keyway on the part 11 to prevent relative rotation of the parts. In a modification of the form shown, in Fig. 12 a metal ferrule is screwed-into and projects from the upper end of the part 11. The part 12 is then screwed on to the ferrule. the skirt 16 covering the join, the parts 11 and 12 being of equal and uniform thickness. The walls of the part 11 may be made to converge downwardly, the inner wall being concave where, it joins the bottom. The pot may be made of plastic, papier machÚ. glass, china, wood or metal. According to the Provisional Specification, the upward projection may be of any shape, but is preferably of a shape suitable for a handle, and may have other .projections thereon. In a modification the projection may be relatively short but concave, with an inwardly and upwardly projecting localized lip, a slight curved depression being provided on the top edge at each side. The handle may then be at the opposite side and below the top of the receptacle. When the projection is a separate part it may be secured to the receptacle part by adhesive.
