Abstract

645,372. Shooting practice apparatus. GARRIDO, V. N. Dec. 30, 1947, No. 34576. Convention date, May 6. [Class 119] In shooting practice at moving targets and more particularly for pigeon shooting, a spot of light is projected on to a screen 2 to represent a target image, the projector 1 being moved in azimuth by one of a number of cams on a drum 9 and in elevation by one of a number of cams on a rotary disc 11 to simulate a target path. The cams are simultaneously rotated by gearing from a motor 6. According to the invention, the arrangement is such that, under the control of a switch 4 operated by spaced projections on a disc 5 on the shaft of cam disc 11, the light first appears at one or the other of openings 3 representing bird cages, and then moves in a path variable at will according to the cams in action, being finally extinguished to represent the termination of target range. On firing a dummy gun 13, a trigger-operated light spot is projected on to the screen to represent the result of firing.
