Abstract

643,648. Radiolocation. MINISTER OF SUPPLY. April 12, 1946, No. 11379. [Class 40 (vii)] [Also in Group XX] Relates to apparatus in which pictures, particularly of a radiolocation display screen, are recorded in adjacent positions along a film and are required to be presented at a higher repetition frequency than the recording frequency as described in Specification 643,263. A plurality of uniformly-spaced projection gates 11A &c. is provided for a plurality of successive pictures, film locating means such as pins 25 being associated with each gate together with film tensioning means to keep the film flat, such as spring-urged rollers 26 which depress the film into recesses in the platen in which the gate apertures are formed. The rollers 26 and the pins 25 are lifted to allow the film to be drawn through by the sprocket 2. The gate spacing is slightly less than the length of film fed, as determined by the device 8 having register-pins movable into and out of the film and moved in the direction of film travel between adjustable stops. Mirrors 14 are provided in the light beams from the gates and further mirrors 17, 18, 19, 20, 21 on angularly-spaced arms on a shaft 15 reflect the beams in succession through the projection system 16, 22.
