Abstract
643,029. Pipe joints. PETTERSON, E. K., and EKSTROM, K. G. A. June 17,1947, No. 15902. [Class 99(i)] .[Also in Group XIII] In a mounting for a swing radiator, vertically directed intake and discharge tube ends 2 of the radiator are in a hinge-like way journalled in the pipe ends 1 of the hot-water piping, e.g. so that each tube end with its corresponding pipe end, as shown, forms a separate bearing attachable to the wall, and since both tube ends 2 are directed downwards the radiator can by a lifting movement be disconnected from the pipe ends 1. Moreover, a washer 8 is secured to the top of each pipe end, retaining packing 7 in its groove and forming a supporting bearing for a flange 9 on the tube end. A set screw 11 in the washer co-acts with a groove 10 in the flange to prevent unintentional disconnection.
