Abstract

642,760. Control of motors. FULKES, L. P., and COMMERCIAL IGNITION CO., Ltd. April 17, 1947, No. 16106/49. Divided out of 642,727. [Class 38(iii)] Means for controlling the operation of a sliding window, partition, or the like comprises a reversible shunt wound motor A having the same type of field winding for both directions of rotation, the armature of which drives means which moves the window or the like, a pair of switches H, H<SP>1</SP>, manually operable independently for starting the motor in either direction, electromagnetic relays E, E<SP>1</SP>, each adapted to close one of a pair of contact switches when one of said switches H, H<SP>1</SP>, is closed, whereby a source C of current is connected to the motor, a pair of limit switches I, I<SP>1</SP>, automatically operated by a member 64 fixed to said driven means to cut off current supply from the source when the window or like has reached either limit of travel, the starting switches, relays, and limit switches being arranged in circuits which are in parallel with the armature circuit of the motor, whereby the main load current from the source will flow through the armature circuit of the motor. The electromagnetic relay switches may be of the type described in Specification 642,727.
