Abstract

A bite block consists of a length of wax, or similar material, which may be either straight for subsequent bending or ready curved, having a longitudinal groove along one face, for engagement with the ridge of the patient's gum. The inner face of the block, adjacent to the grooved face, may have a series of transverse cuts or notches to facilitate bending to the desired shape. Transverse holes or open notches may be provided through the block to accommodate the operator's fingers and assist manipulation.
