Abstract

639,882. Shoulder pads. GERRY, E. D. Dec. 11, 1947, No. 32645. [Class 141] A shoulder pad comprises a resilient core enclosed by a casing which has fastening means on its upper wall for engagement with co-operating means carried on a tape secured to the shoulder of the garment. As shown, the casing comprises a top panel 20, a bottom panel 21 and a crescent-shaped base panel 22, the two former panels being secured together by stitching 29 providing a peripheral flap 23 extending beyond the edges of the core, which is rearwardly tapered in thickness towards an apex 18. A reinforcing tape 25 is secured to the underside of the panel 20 where snap fastener elements 27 are attached.
