Abstract
638,792. Hinges. BUCK & SONS, Ltd., E. R., and HARRISON, W. July 5, 1948, No. 17990. [Class 65 (ii)] [Also in Group XIV] Hinges for a portable bed whereby the head end may be inclined and self-supporting in such position comprise, at each side a of the head end, a leaf f having a slot g with an offset portion h and a pin i passing through the slot and secured to the sides a of the remainder of the bed, a slot m also being provided in such sides. To incline the head end the latter is drawn out until the pin i is situated at the outer end of the slot g the head end is then inclined so that the leaf f passes into the slot m whereupon the head end with its leaf f is moved to bring the pin i into the offset portion h of the slot g the head end being supported by means of the pin i in the slot h and by its outer end bearing against the end k of the slot m.
