Abstract

The rotor fingers on a hop-plucking machine are formed from or covered with rubber, or similar soft material. The invention may be applied to the machine described in Specification 520,997, in which the fingers are pivoted on rotors and pass between the teeth of combs. The covering may be a separate rubber sleeve placed over the finger, or may comprise a strip bonded to one edge thereof. If the whole finger is of rubber, a metal bush may be moulded in the rubber to permit the pivotal mounting, and other metal inserts may be included to add strength and weight to the finger.
