[Class 80 (ii)] The subject-matter is the same as Specification 637,158 but the claims are directed towards the automatic control of the friction clutches to provide a different rate of application during downshifts than during upshifts to allow for, and prevent respectively, speeding-up of the engine so as to obtain a smooth change. Specification 515,001 also is referred to.
