Abstract
636,269. Coffee infusing machines. MIDLAND METAL SPINNING CO., Ltd., and WEBSTER, F. P. Sept. 30, 1947, No. 26408. [Class 129] [Also in Group XVII] A valve member comprising superimposed discs i, j, having unaligned perforations, and which is adapted normally to seat upon and close the funnel-shaped extension c of the upper vessel a and to provide a base for the ground coffee, is capable of being raised from its seating to permit the upward passage therepast of heated water under pressure, the unaligned perforations permitting the subsequent percolation of filtered coffee downwardly therethrough after removal of the source of heating from the lower container e. The discs are mounted upon the stem n of a handle, the stem being connected by a spring o to the lower end of the tubular member d. The lower container may be fitted with a lid having a pouring aperture, after the upper container has been removed. It is stated in the Provisional Specification that a weighted ball may be used instead of the spring to retain the valve on its seating.
